Dr. James Horner is a Chiropractor who has proudly served Markham, Unionville, and York Region for over 20 years with an evidence-based practice integrating the best available scientific evidence, clinical expertise, and patient preferences.
Having seen an increasing incidence of musculoskeletal problems as populations live longer, coupled with the devastating side-effects of long term pain medication, he is committed to using Chiropractic as a first line, non-pharmaceutical management of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
Dr. Horner has a particular interest in the treatment of seniors, sciatica, spinal stenosis, peripheral neuropathy, as well as Chiropractic pediatrics, knowing that many of the issues that plague us in adulthood begin in childhood. He also specializes in motor vehicle accident (MVA) rehabilitation, as part of a general practice supporting patients of all ages.
In addition to being certified in instrument-adjusting Activator technique (Levels I and II) and principally using Diversified and Thompson techniques, he also utilizes Applied Kinesiology, a functional-based assessment and treatment technique which approaches care and outcomes in a measurable form, in his practice.
For over 10 years, Dr. Horner was in the hospitality field until an unfortunate lower back injury led to a severe case of Sciatica. When a traditional medical protocol provided no relief, a chance meeting with a Chiropractor provided an alternative. After 3 weeks of Chiropractic stabilization treatments, he was pain free and able to continue with a normal life. This was his inspiration to return to school to become a Chiropractor in order to help people the way he had been helped.
Dr. Horner graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic West.
