As a first generation Canadian, Joanna saw firsthand how her family struggled with navigating mental health services in both their home country and in Canada due to socioeconomic and linguistic difficulties. She is eager to create a space where such services are accessible, culturally sensitive, and resourceful in navigating intersectionality. Joanna would like to help those struggling and managing life challenges and provided the assistance to help explore, unpack and process those challenges.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, she has experience working with the following: Disability, Sleep, Anger, Relationship Issues, Self-esteem, Anxiety and Depression, and uses a combination of modalities and techniques that best cater to her clients goals and needs. She is trained in the following modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic and Attachment-Based Approaches.
Joanna completed her Master of Education, Counselling Psychology as well as her Bachelor of Science, Honors from University of Toronto.
