Yan Sin Wong is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), together with an expressive arts therapist, with rich experience in psychotherapy under medical setting. She specializes in gerontology, with numerous experiences as an expressive arts therapist working in assisted living homes, working with individuals with dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Apart from Expressive Arts Therapy, she also employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her private practice, serving a diverse clientele, including MVA and long-term illness patients, with PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and sleep disorders. Additionally, children with special needs and physical or intellectual disabilities are a special clinical interest of hers.
She is good at fostering a non-judgmental and embracing environment, employing active listening and attention to both verbal and nonverbal communication, resulting in strong therapeutic relationships with her patients.
Yan Sin has completed her Master of Expressive Arts Therapy from the University of Hong Kong, in addition to a Master of Arts in Music Education, from the Education University of Hong Kong. She also possesses a postgraduate diploma in Music Therapy from HKUSPACE and a graduate certificate in gerontology from Fanshawe College, as well as additional training in Philosophical Counselling. She is a member in good standing of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and Ontario Expressive Arts Therapy Association (OEATA).
